Freshman Republican, Ron DeSantis (R-FL), published an op-ed in the Daytona Beach News Journal on Sunday that outlined the Congressman’s concerns with the so-called Marketplace Fairness Act.  Congressman DeSantis, an attorney and Member of the House Judiciary Committee, expressed his belief that the Marketplace Fairness Act “ would undermine the principle of taxation without representation and sets the precedent for politicians to shift more and more tax and regulatory burdens to out-of-state businesses, thereby immunizing themselves from political costs”.  Congressman DeSantis promised that he would do his best to defeat the Internet sales tax bill if it were to move in the House.
