Fostering Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise (SME) digitalisation and bolstering international trade activity are cornerstones of a more cohesive Europe for SMEs. In this context, we recently published a report confirming that the eBay global marketplace is helping achieve these important goals across the EU.
For the past decade, Globalparts-UK, co-founded by Michał Szpin, has been a vanguard in the used auto parts industry, especially on eBay. Starting from modest beginnings, the company has grown to become a major player, currently ranking second in the UK and leading in Europe. With two main warehouses in the UK and EU, along with several smaller return centers, Globalparts-UK has built an extensive logistics network.
Supporting structurally weak economic areas to help them catch up and provide improved standards of living across Germany remains an important priority. This includes disparities between East and West as well as the challenges of remote rural jurisdictions and areas marked by the decline of once-dominant heavy industries. However, as wealthier, and more urban hotspots attract more entrepreneurs, younger and higher skilled workers, and financial capital, it pushes against a more balanced national economy.

Recently a group of 11 small business owners and entrepreneurs from different EU countries visited Brussels. The sellers were joined by eBay’s President and CEO, Jamie Iannone, and met with representatives of the EU institutions on key legislative initiatives that could impact their businesses.
