As part of eBay’s 25th Anniversary, the eBay community recently gathered for an online party to celebrate our sellers and thank them for their continued commitment to eBay. Hosted by Marni Levine, eBay’s VP, Seller Operations and Engagement, eBay Americas, the event featured remarks by eBay Executives and sellers reflecting on milestones from the past 25 years and the future we’re creating together.
Marni began the event by highlighting how for 25 years eBay has worked to create a trusted marketplace that is inclusive and fair and fosters global trade. She noted that our community of sellers is the heart of eBay and the company only wins when our sellers win. Marni also reiterated that eBay does not compete with its sellers and that we protect them and are looking to power their businesses.
The additional eBay speakers that joined the party included Jamie Iannone, President & CEO; Jordan Sweetnam, SVP & GM of North America; and Andrea Stairs, Chief Marketing Officer, North America. Each discussed their favorite item they have bought and sold on eBay as well as their favorite eBay experiences and what they are excited about at eBay moving forward. Jordan also touched on the iconic trends on eBay over the last 25 years and Andrea provided insight into how marketing has evolved during this time to continuously support sellers. Jamie discussed the millions of connections eBay has been able to create, the value of our community and dialogue we continue to have, and the key pillars of his vision for the company in the years ahead.
The event also featured a roundtable hosted by Jim “Griff” Griffith, Editor & Chief of the eBay for Business Podcast, in which he welcomed three well-known sellers of the eBay Community - Betsie Bolger Mott (eBetsy), Kathy Terrill (nycfitnessfamilyfinds), and Chris Holbrook (SneakerJesus). The sellers talked about what sets eBay apart as a seller community and what eBay’s 25th Anniversary means to them. Additionally, the party showcased five seller story videos demonstrating how eBay continues to fulfill its purpose of empowering people and creating economic opportunity for all.
And, it wouldn’t be an eBay party if it didn’t include a unique version of the eBay clapping tunnel, one of our special ways of saying thank you for the last 25 years and how much we look forward to a bright future together.
