Leah Erwin, of the eBay Government Relations’ Seller Advocacy Team, traveled to Wroclaw, Poland, in late January to speak at the 2025 eBay Poland Export Summit. Nearly 200 sellers attended the summit, where Leah presented on key policy issues related to exporting. She also gave an overview of eBay’s Small Business Advocacy Network and highlighted opportunities that will be available in 2025 for sellers to connect with European policymakers. The summit, organized by eBay’s Global Markets Team and focused on increasing exporting activity on the platform, provided a forum for sellers to explore e-commerce trends, best practices, and community insights. Sellers attended presentations, engaged with eBay staff on issues pertinent to their businesses, and networked with other businesses located in Poland.
Digital technology and e-commerce are expanding economic opportunities in the Polish market, which has Europe’s sixth-largest and increasingly digitally-connected population, a growing tech base of skilled firms and workers, vibrant small and medium-sized businesses, and products valuable to consumers both within and beyond the EU. However, some businesses face increasing compliance obligations and costs as some of the EU legislation they must comply with remains fragmented, hindering their full access to the Single Market. The eBay Government Relations Team is actively engaging with sellers in Poland and across Europe to hear their perspectives on the regulatory and administrative challenges they face and will continue to advocate on their behalf for policies that protect small businesses.
