This week, following two years of negotiations between Internet platforms and rights owners, 29 participants have signed an EU Memorandum of Understanding on the sale of counterfeit goods over the Internet. eBay, Amazon, LVMH, L\'Oréal, Adidas and other prominent brands agreed on a set of cooperative best practice principles.
It is the first Memorandum of Understanding of its kind brokered by the European Commission. While the Memorandum of Understanding is not a legally binding document, it reinforces eBay\'s commitment to building trust between buyers, sellers and rights owners on the Internet. See below for the entire list of participants and read eBay\'s policy paper on stolen goods.
