- Record Single-Day Raise: November 21, 2024 was our biggest day in donations, with $890K+ raised in just 24 hours.

- YoY Growth: An impressive 18% increase in total funds raised from 2023.
2024’s Biggest Moments
“Forces For Change” Auction with British Vogue
In February, British Vogue and eBay turned the runway into a catalyst for change. This high-end collaboration spotlighted pre-loved luxury, featuring coveted pieces like a Tom Ford for Gucci animal-print bag, a Stella McCartney velvet halterneck gown, and a Louis Vuitton blazer. The auction raised $63,800, fueling the Canopy Planet Foundation's mission to craft sustainable supply chains.
GLIDE’s "Power of One Charity Lunch Auction"
The iconic "Power of One Charity Auction Lunch," a partnership between Warren Buffett and eBay for Charity, took a historic turn in 2024. Longstanding Power of One host Warren Buffett passed the torch to Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, who hosted this year's event in support of GLIDE's mission to combat poverty and promote equity.
Elton John’s “Rocket Man Resale”
In June, we celebrated Pride Month alongside Elton John, who opened his closet for a dazzling auction in support of the Elton John AIDS Foundation. The historic “Rocket Man Resale” auction featured hundreds of items from Elton’s closet, including bespoke Gucci jackets, Versace robes, customized Prada loafers, historic concert T-shirts, and more. With bonus contributions from David Furnish, Donatella Versace, Betsey Johnson, Brandi Carlile, and other luminaries, this auction offered fans a chance to own pieces of rock history while supporting a crucial cause.
8th Annual Homes For Our Troops Auction
We helped celebrate Homes For Our Troops’s 20th anniversary with a star-studded auction, rallying support for injured veterans. The event featured exclusive memorabilia and experiences with celebrities like Jason Bateman and Will Ferrell, all in aid of building custom accessible homes for veterans.
This eBay for Charity Seller Transforms Lives, One Meal at a Time
Finally, we sat down with Laurie Wong, a Charity seller who transformed her nonprofit thrift store into a powerhouse of goodwill on eBay. From Powder Springs, Georgia, Laurie’s Reflections of Trinity fuels a food pantry and vital community programs. This past Thanksgiving alone, she provided over 1,600 families with meals, distributing an astounding 267,000 pounds of food. Laurie's story is a testament to the impact one person can have when empowered by a platform like eBay for Charity.
