Speaking this week at the Australian Payments Clearing Association (APCA) Limited’s 20th Anniversary Symposium in Sydney, Rupert Keeley, Senior Vice President, PayPal Asia Pacific delivered a presentation on “Integrated payments in a connected world.”
The symposium was attended by Australia's leading financial institutions, major retailers and other principal payments service providers, as well as Australian regulators. This year, APCA is celebrating its 20th anniversary as the payments industry's self-regulatory body.
At the symposium, the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia, Glen Stevens was reported as saying ‘‘If we think about the rapid rise of PayPal, the spread of chip and now contactless card payments, and the enormous amount of energy that is being focused on mobile payments at the moment, there is clearly no shortage of innovation in payments.’’
