This week, the New York State Assembly and State Senate overwhelmingly approved a motion to extend consumers’ rights to buy, sell, share or give away the tickets they purchase...when, where and how they choose. The motion was originally passed last July when New York became the first state to pass a ban on paperless tickets.
“Consumer choice is an essential component of an effective competition, particularly in the live event market,” said John Breyault, vice president of Public Policy, Telecommunications and Fraud for the National Consumers League and a Fan Freedom Project Board Member. “We would encourage other states to look to New York for an example of how common-sense ticket choice protections benefit consumers.”
