This week, Congressman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA), Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee visited eBay Inc. headquarters in Silicon Valley.  During his visit, Chairman Goodlatte toured eBay Inc.’s Commerce Innovation Center, which demonstrates the future of commerce and the opportunities the digital marketplace will create for both consumers and retailers of all sizes.  Whether you are a consumer that craves convenience and simplicity, or a small business retailer looking for efficiency, the Commerce Innovation Center highlighted how innovations in technology will give consumers and businesses the ability to accomplish their unique goals.

During his tour, Chairman Goodlatte also met with representatives from the eBay, Inc. GR team to learn more about eBay’s concerns with the Internet sales tax proposal currently pending in Congress.  As Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Chairman Goodlatte has jurisdiction on the Internet sales tax issue.  eBay applauded the Chairman on the release of his Internet sales tax principles and his efforts to find a workable alternative to the so-called Marketplace Fairness Act, which would negatively impact thousands of small businesses all across the country.
