Ambassador Derek Mitchell and the McKell Institute Fellows

Recently Kristen Foster, Director of eBay Government Relations for Australia, New Zealand, Japan & Southeast Asia, was named a McKell Institute Fellow and invited to the Institute’s inaugural fellowship program in Washington DC. The event included a policy rountable featuring US Ambassador Derek Mitchell, the United States’ first Ambassador to Burma after a 22 year hiatus in relations between the two countries. Discussions at this event focused on issues specific to the APAC region, such as the Trans Pacific Partnership, bilateral free trade agreements, leveraging ecommerce to facilitate cross border trade, and providing SMEs with the ability to harness innovation in the region.
