On December 11th, eBay Inc. sponsored and presented the DSCI Excellence Award 2012 to outstanding Cyber Police and Law Enforcement Agencies in India. The award was organised by the Digital Security Council of India (DSCI), a not-for-profit organisation, and it aims to recognise and honour a Law Enforcement Officer who has done outstanding investigation in solving a cybercrime, as well as a police agency in India for their efforts in raising their overall capacity building and training standards for their officers.
The DSCI, the organiser of the award, has been a great partner for our recent work in India to fight cybercrime. “Cybersecurity is not just a certificate or an accreditation but a constant education in developing expertise together, as an industry,” said the Chairman of DSCI at the address for the Award ceremony, which echoes eBay’s belief that a collaborative approach with the Government authorities is necessary to foster a safe and vibrant internet.
eBay Inc.'s Jack Christin, Associate Counsel & Head of Global Asset Protection, and Nath Parameshwaran, Head of Government Relations for India, shared the stage with Deputy NSA Ms. Latha Reddy and Chairman of the DSCI to present the awards for:
- The Cyber-Cop of the Year
- The Best Law Enforcement Agency for Capacity Building
- Visionary Award for Cybercrime Investigation
