This year, the District 6 San Jose City Council seat, which represents eBay’s headquarters, will be open for the first time in nearly a decade as Councilmember Oliverio reaches the limit of his term in office. eBay employees and customers living in the area will be tasked with voting for their preferred candidate in November – either Devora “Dev” Davis or Helen Chapman. In an effort to educate voters on the issues affecting the local community and allow the candidates an opportunity to explain their positions, current Councilmember Oliverio hosted the last in a series of candidate forums at eBay’s San Jose campus this week. During the civil debate, candidates addressed important issues affecting the local community – from law enforcement to housing and economic development. As the saying goes, “all politics is local” – given this, eBay was proud to open our doors to the community by hosting the San Jose City Council Candidate Forum for all of District 6.
