Minister for International Trade and Industry, Malaysia, Dato Sri Mustapa bin Mohamed presented with eBay Inc’s APEC study
eBay Inc. participated at the APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) CEO Summit held in Beijing, China between 8-10 November. The Summit is the leading premier government-industry business event in the Asia Pacific, and is held during “Leaders Week” in the APEC calendar. eBay Inc. participants held meetings with influencers from several governments - including influencers from the United States United States, Australia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and China – and took the opportunity to share the following policies with government stakeholders, on behalf of our customers:
- Enabling global trade for SME’s (Small & Medium Enterprises)
- Encouraging a higher de minimis to promote cross border trade
- Free flow of data across borders
- Promoting a competitive ePayments system
During the summit we also released this APEC study showcasing how eBay Inc. enables SME’s, as well as the policies that further enable SME growth. The study shows that, on average, eBay commercial exporters from APEC member economies sell to 36 different countries worldwide.
Next year’s Summit will be held in Philippines and eBay Inc. will be in attendance to represent eBay Inc. customers globally once again.
