This week Tod Cohen, Vice President of eBay Inc. Global Government Relations, was interviewed on eBay Radio about the work our team does to protect eBay Inc. and its community of users. Specifically Tod spoke with Griff and Lee of eBay Radio about the negative effects the Marketplace Fairness Act would have on small web-enabled businesses. Tod explained to listeners the work our team is doing in educating Members of Congress about the burdens small businesses would face from Internet sales tax legislation that would force them to collect and remit sales tax in over 9,000 jurisdictions. Additionally Tod highlighted the upcoming Internet sales tax hearing, which will take place on March 4th, 2014 at 10:30 EST in front of the House Judiciary Committee. Tod also spoke about the important work our team is doing when it comes to postal reform and keeping the USPS a viable and affordable shipping method for eBay users as well as our work on promoting cross border trade for smaller retailers all over the globe. Other issues discussed included net neutrality and intellectual property or ownership rights.
