U.S. Representative Swalwell with event participants.
Recently, U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA/15) visited eBay’s headquarters in San Jose, CA for a joint ‘Future Forum’/’U Can Inspire’ discussion with Tod Cohen, eBay’s Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Government Relations, Asset Protection & Competition Law, and area students currently participating in Leaders for Education, Advocacy, and Democracy (LEAD). As a leader of the ‘Future Forum,’ Rep. Swalwell is focused on building solutions to the policy challenges facing the Millennial Generation.
The discussion was chaired by Smarak Bhuyan, eBay’s Program Manager for Technical Operations. Smarak is also a leader for the San Jose chapter of eBay’s ’U Can Inspire,’ which seeks to inspire disadvantaged youth by exposing them to tech careers and helping them create a personal vision for their success.
Prior to the event, Congressman Swalwell also toured eBay’s first annual Hackathon, where eBay employees gave him a sneak peak at some of eBay’s newest technology projects.
eBay greatly appreciates Congressman Swalwell’s interest in our business and his work to champion policies that will enable young Americans to become the innovators of tomorrow.
