This week, Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) urged Americans to make their voice heard and tell the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to preserve the Open Internet. In May of this year, the FCC proposed a federal rule in an effort to find a solution to the net neutrality and Open Internet debate. Due to the fact that the proposed rule would affect consumers, organizations and businesses across the country, the FCC requested the public submit comments by September 10th explaining any concerns with the proposal.
In a YouTube video, Senator Wyden challenges Americans to break the record and submit over 1 million comments to the FCC in favor of the Open Internet. “This is the chance for defenders of the open Internet to speak up and tell the FCC to seize this opportunity to enact strong rules that protect Net Neutrality and the freedom to compete online once and for all,” said Senator Wyden.
