Last week, the coalition supporting the imposition of new sales tax burdens on small online retailers circulated a memo attacking The Heritage Foundation for opposing the so-called Marketplace Fairness Act. In their memo, the coalition falsely claimed that the Internet sales tax bill would in no way hurt small businesses using the Internet to sell their goods and services. In response to these “claims”, Heritage published their own memo setting the record straight on the issue.
