Washington State Senator Steve Litzow, Representative Chad Magendanz, Representative Cyrus Habib and Executive Policy Advisor John Lane joined eBay business leaders in Bellevue, Washington for a luncheon policy discussion and tour led by eBay VP and Site Head Ken Moss. This was the first visit by elected officials to eBay’s new offices in downtown Bellevue, which opened in August. Several eBay teams, with functions ranging from analytics to technologies behind shipping and Internet marketing, are based on the three floors eBay occupies. eBay also recently acquired Seattle-based Decide.com, a price-forecasting firm whose employees will be joining the teams in Bellevue. Representing the district where the office is located or surrounding areas, the elected officials shared their thoughts on the growth of Washington’s tech sector. The lunchtime discussion featured engaging dialog around eBay Inc.’s innovations and growth, the startup culture, higher education in Washington and their priorities for the coming legislative session. After lunch, the guests took a tour of eBay’s newly minted offices, getting a first-hand look at our technologists in action.
