On 13 September, Hanne Melin, of eBay Inc. Public Policy Lab, held a guest lecture at the Law Faculty of Lund University, Sweden. Encouraging the students to think big, Melin explained that lawyers can be thought-leaders and shape policy to the better.
Entitled “Arguments Before Policymakers”, the lecture forms part of the Master Programme in European Business Law. The lecture described how lawyers can consciously participate in shaping society and how adopting a broader mindset when practicing law can lead to positive innovation in the area of legal and policy solutions.
Melin also presented the students with the booklet “Six Steps Out Of The Box – A Guide For The Lawyer Innovator”. This guide sums up the lecture and seeks to inspire law students to reflect about the role they could play in ensuring the law moves nicely with the times. Download the complete guide.
