In a video released by the Internet Association, a D.C. based trade association that represents the leading Internet companies, eBay-enabled small business owner Steve Douge discusses the importance of tech-enabled trade and how it has transformed his hardware store in Washington state.
“The Internet not only allows me to compete aboard, but it is a great American export tool”, said Douge. “Because we ship to countries all over the world, we’ve had the opportunity to converse with people in other countries that I would have never thought I would converse with…..Every month we send packages to Iceland”.
The eBay Inc. community has been supportive of both the modernization of the U.S. trade agenda in order to help business owners like Steve realize their full trading potential. In fact, eBay-enabled businesses recently sent a letter to the President calling for the United States to update its trade laws in an effort to create more opportunities for Internet-enabled small businesses.
