The Main Street community makes their collective voice heard.  

This September, we launched a grassroots campaign urging Mainstreet members to oppose any efforts to lower the US customs de minimis threshold. Lowering the de minimis threshold would raise costs and put in place unnecessary red tape, hurting small businesses and consumers alike. This, in turn, could impede the ability of US small businesses to readily accept international returns and compete with international firms in the global marketplace.

We are happy to report that the Main Street community stepped up to the plate. After sending tens of thousands of letters to Capitol Hill, 130 bipartisan members of Congress signed on to this letter in support of maintaining the current de minimis threshold! This is a great first step in maintaining the current de minimis threshold.

We would like to thank all of the eBay Main Street members who participated in this campaign, as well as the four leaders of the letter for supporting small ecommerce businesses: Congressman Earl Blumenauer (OR-03), Congressman Vern Buchanan (FL-13), Congressman Ron Kind (WI-03), and Congressman David Schweikert (AZ-06).
