Australia’s Shadow Treasurer, the Hon Joe Hockey MP, visited the Australian offices of eBay and PayPal last week. The Shadow Treasurer met Deborah Sharkey, Vice President, eBay Australia & New Zealand and Jeff Clementz, Vice President, PayPal Pty Ltd.

Discussion focused on mobile payments, Australia’s financial sector, the current state of commerce, and the Coalition’s plans for banking reform.

Prior to entering politics, Hockey was a banking and finance lawyer with a major Australian law firm. He has also held numerous Ministerial and Shadow Ministerial portfolio responsibilities.
