Mark Lavelle, senior vice president of strategy and business development for PayPal, and Deputy Secretary Neal Wolin
Recently, senior officials from the U.S. Department of the Treasury stopped by eBay Inc.’s PayPal campus to learn more about PayPal’s perspective on the payments industry and to become better acquainted with PayPal’s products and services, in particular those in the payments innovation arena. The meeting started with Mark Lavelle, eBay Inc.’s Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, giving a presentation on the PayPal business – past, present and future – followed by a discussion of PayPal’s federal public policy priorities. This was the second visit this year by representatives from the Department of the Treasury and is part of an ongoing dialogue between PayPal and the Department on the nature of the modern payments industry and PayPal’s role in supporting small merchants and consumers in the ever-changing payments landscape.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Secretary Neal Wolin, Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions Cyrus Amir-Mokri, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Consumer Policy Melissa Koide, and Counselor to the Deputy Secretary W. Campbell Gibson.
