[Tuesday 12 July]— In response to today\'s ruling by the Court of Justice of the European Union, Stefan Krawczyk, Senior Director and Counsel Government Relations, eBay Europe said: “The judgment provides someclarity on certain issues, and ensures that all brands can be traded online in Europe. As a marketplace, eBay provides a level playing field for all online sellers and will continue building constructive partnerships to expand the range of brands being sold on eBay.”
The managing director of the online marketplace eBay, Dr. Stephan Zoll, and the managing Director of the online payment service PayPal, Gregor Bieler, and other employees of the company have signed the initiative "ProNet Neutrality”. eBay thus supports the call for a legal establishment of the principle of network neutrality.
This year's Spring Meeting of the Telecommunications, Internet and Media (TIM) Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany had the title “Responsibility in Telemedia Act – Finally Legal Certainty?”. The event with around 50 participants took place at eBay at Europarc Dreinlindnen just outside of Berlin. Members of the Parliament from the Coalition as well as from the SPD and the Green Party discussed the topic with industry and science representatives.
