Hong Kong’s eBay commercial exporters sell to an average to 57 countries, the 2nd highest in Asia, revealed in a report released last week in Hong Kong (November 19) titled Commerce 3.0: Enabling Hong Kong Entrepreneurs.

This week in New Delhi, eBay India Managing Director Latif Nathani met Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. During their meeting, they discussed the prospects of the growing ecommerce industry in the country and how that will benefit India’s economy. Nathani explained that eBay alone  has 50,000 sellers on its platform, of which 15,000 sell across the globe.

eBay Inc. welcomes the new European Commission, led by President Jean-Claude Juncker, which took office this week. The expectation is that the digital economy will feature prominently across policy priorities. President Juncker’s Political Guidelines have correctly identified the need to make better use of the great opportunities offered by digital technologies, which know no borders.

Last week, PayPal Turkey, along with the Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV) announced research into the economic opportunities of cross border trade for Turkish small merchants and the Turkish economy. The study, entitled 'E-exportation in Turkey: Opportunities and Challenges' was released at a press conference by Rupert Keeley, PayPal’s Senior Vice President for Europe, the Middle East and North Africa and TEPAV’s Director of the Board Durmus Yilmaz.
